La Đồng, located at 11 East 17th Street near Union Square, is the latest project from the team behind Pranakhon and Thai Villa. Set in a beautifully crafted “Asian colonial house” featuring wooden arches, lotus‑shaped lamps, murals, and private booths, the restaurant channels a stylish yet welcoming energy.
Headed by chef Pithayakorn Panapoi, the menu showcases 45 dishes across seven categories—celebrating street food from Northern Vietnam through the Mekong Delta. Highlights include Hanoi-style whole fish seasoned with turmeric and dill, delicate steamed rice rolls, crispy summer rolls, and a signature pho served tableside with thin-sliced Miyazaki A5 Wagyu beef.
Their beverage program, “Liquor Luck,” is a fusion of Vietnamese numerology and Southeast Asian ingredients, offering creative cocktails like shrimp‑paste mezcal and tropical rum blends. La Đồng also serves New York’s only daily-brewed Bia Hơi lager. As they say: “Hospitality is our currency.”
